Three of my images involve a mirror and can work together as a triptych or cut down to just a diptych. They involve a girl in the bed and I think they are successful because they are just abstract enough to go with my series without being so abstract that the viewer can't tell what the subject is. I also like the pink because it utilizes color which I just started using.
The most important aspect of my other two images is the segmenting of the two while keeping the continuity of the arms. I think the two work well as a diptych which is what I am going for.
I think the comments from your peers were really good today. It seems as though the linking of spaces/emotional states is working well, and indeed the disjointed aspects of the diptychs not quite fitting together, but somehow having a seamless quality is really helping with the response. I think it will be useful to sit with the image of the couch for a while and think about some of the things that were mentioned. I recommend you play around with this approach in the next week (as well as continuing with the other strategies). There is something different that comes across when it is literally the same space and a continuation of a moment, as opposed to the suggestion of a continued moment. Keep the momentum going and keep shooting a lot, a a lot, a lot. You are starting to really get at something, but there is still much to be gained. I'm excited to see what else you will come up with!
